Trash Compactor

Trash compactors are more of a convenience than a necessity, but they are nice to have. The only problem is, when your trash compactor stops working, it usually gets stuck with your trash still inside. In this case, it’s only a matter of time before your whole kitchen starts to stink up! Don’t wait for this to happen—call FixEm Appliance Repair right away. When it comes to affordable appliance repair in the East Bay Area, we’re your go-to guys!

Common Issues:

  • Trash compactor drawer is stuck/won’t open
  • Not compacting trash all the way
  • Motor is humming but nothing is moving

Things to Remember:

  • Do not overfill the bin in the trash compactor.
  • Regularly clean out your trash compactor. Use a bacteria-fighting cleaner and/or degreaser to clean the ram, bin and outer panel.
  • Replace the filter. If equipped, replace the charcoal air filter once or twice per year.
  • Deodorize your trash compactor by spraying the interior with a germ-killing deodorant/disinfectant.
